At the brewery. From a firkin. Almost no carbonation. Ashy aroma and flavor. Some hops but the flavor of ashes is overpowering. I like the idea but i think this needs a little lighter roast.

Straw color. Ten oz pour i think, where I might have served this in a full pint. Dry grass, low carbonation and noble hops but not a huge amount of them.

My pour was not clear but dark orange and opaque with a nice head. Lots of malt flavor, and less so from hops. It is dry and bitter, cereal grains and light bitterness. It seems like more of a balanced apa than an ipa. Good, heavy palate.

On tap @ the brewery in Hudson. Pours a deep reddish orange appearance with an off white head. Burnt malty, coffee, light smoky aroma. Mild chocolate, campfire ashy, a bit sweet flavor that finishes fairly bitter.

On tap @ the brewery in Hudson. Pours a maroon orange appearance with little head. Somewhat roasty, light coffee, nutty, herbal hoppy aroma. Carbonation is a bit dull. Flavors of hazelnut, caramel, light smoke, and citrus fruits. Not great but better than others here.

On tap @ the brewery in Hudson. Pours a hazy dark reddish appearance with a light brown head and nice lacing. Spicy, herbal/nutmeg, cookie, caramel aroma. Chewy cookie, toasted malty, lightly fruity, bitter herbal flavor. Actually not a ton of fruity notes.

On tap @ the brewery in Hudson. Pours a hazy reddish orange appearance with a cream colored head. Somewhat spicy hoppy, citrusy aroma that is more reminiscent of a pale ale than a witbier. Bitter, soapy hoppy, orange citrusy, goopy flavor with a ton of bitterness on the finish. No thanks.

On tap @ the brewery in Hudson. Pours a hazy golden appearance with a white head. Light grainy, lemon, fairly bland aroma. Candy, grapefruit, fairly sweet malty flavor. Not super hard to drink but not really close to style.
