Draft 12 oz pour at the brewery. Listed as Pantalones Rojas Red IPA, so I guess they went and took a Spanish lesson shortly after this was released the first time. Pantalones is one of those words that even people that donβt speak Spanish, know what you are saying. Why this is necessary information... I donβt know. Anyway, memorable beer here for sure. Very nice to sit down and enjoy a new beer with Ratman. Rating from notes. Soft caramel and hop forward aroma. Flavor is pretty bitter throughout to me. Exactly what I expected from a Red IPA here, but overall tasty.

Tulip at the brewery - listed at 5.1 abv - hazy amber - aroma and flavor are.quite sweet - notes of gingerbread, tropical fruit esters, a touch of basement and spicy phenolics - finish.at least dries out a little and leaves a lingering spiciness and bitterness - orange marmalade, slight acid - merely okay - too.sweet.

Tap at the brewery - called "Black River Stout" and marketed as a "Hoppy Imperial Stout," so perhaps a style change is in order? - pour is nearly black - off-white lace - slick mouthfeel - flavors of.anise, bittersweet chocolate, ajd raisin, plus drier flavors of roast, smoke - moderate to high bitterness late, but it works with the smoke and drier, roastier.malt.characteristic - I could see this falling easily into the.imperial stout OR imperial.black ipa category - either way, itβs a pretty good beer, but the finish is a little thin, so the alcohol comes through there.
