Bottle split at Chris and Ruth’s legendary pre-GBBF shindig 2017, day one, 05/08/17 cheers all for the beers ! Murky orange with a decent off white head. Nose is orange peel, straw, grains, mellow spice. Taste comrpise light bread, lemon rind, light balsa wood, orange peel. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Ok for the style.

Bottle at C&R Pre-GBBF Tasting 2017. It pours cloudy orangey – gold with a small white head. The aroma is sweet, sticky, malt – driven, orange marmalade, grass, apple, pear, banana, brioche and bread. The taste is dry, sweet – sour, fairly light, tangy orange marmalade, tangerine, green grass vibe, hay and straw. Light – medium body and fine carbonation. Perhaps a bit light, but it has a nice orange marmalade character about it.

Bottle at C&R Pre-GBBF Tasting 2017. It pours clearish golden with a small white head. The aroma is soft, sweet, candied sugars ,apple, pear, melon and sweet sugary cake. The taste is dry, bitter – sweet, cake, white bread, sugary, apple, melon, pear, slightly grainy notes and a touch of spice with a drying finish. Medium body and fine, prickly carbonation. Fair enough, but not a huge amount to it.

The great pre GBBF bottleshare at ChrisO’s. Hazy gold beer, small pale cream colour head. Smooth malts, a little cream. Orange and orange peel hops. Mild spice. Smooth finish. Standard stuff.

The nose holds light zesty lemon peel, wheat flakes, straw. Lightly sweet, with some bitter hay, more lemony notes. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Moderately drying in the finish, with more hay, melon, rindy lemon. Decent beer.

Light to medium sweet flavour with more grainy pale malts, jammy citrus fruits. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Finishes with more biscuity malts, bitter dirty hay, lemon peel. Fine.

Flavour is composed of light wheat, grains, doughy, perfume, floral, citrus. Palate is doughy, lowish carbonation. Not bad.
