Hinter dem Munich Brew Mafia stehen zwei kreative Köpfe, die ihr Handwerk gelernt haben. Als Diplombraumeister und Bier-Sommerlier hat Dario Stieren das Wissen und die Leidenschaft. Da steht ihm sein Geschäftspartner Niklas Zerhoch um nichts nach. Zusammen brechen sie mit Bierkonventionen und ihre Interpretationen eines Craft Beer nehmen eine Reise um die Welt. Technisch ausgefeilt und mit viel Herz für das Brauen gehen sie immer neue Wege und setzen Akzente in der wachsenden Craft Beer Szene. Deshalb sollte man diese zwei jungen ""Mafia"" Paten aus München unbedingt im Auge behalten und sich die ein oder andere Schöpfung von ihnen kaufen. Immer nur so lange der Vorrat reicht - deshalb schnell zuschlagen und genießen.

Sampled @ BKL 2017. Dunkel orange braunes Bier mit einer geringen beigen Schaumkrone. Geruch nach schokoladig, Vanille, mild röstmalzig. Geschmack kräftig malzig, dunkles malz, schokoladig, super.

Bottle pour at Matt’s. Thanks to Stefan for the share! Pours a clear pale gold color with a lasting foam head. Aroma is a soft straw, grouped with lotion and playdough. I pleasant surprise in a lager. Flavor is dry and light, but quite refreshing. An empty finish, but wasn’t expecting a blast of flavor here. Cool, refreshing. Good lager as an overall.

Vertical at the taphouse, 2016 vs 2018: fresh one is foamy fruity, light caramel, mellow, beach mineral feelings, some caramel sweetness but quite quaffable. Old version has gained Kulminator notes, dry Scandinavian licorice and dust, fennel, interestingg spice notes, still a good amount of rest sweetness. The new one is fresh and drinkable, the old one gained very nice complexity. Old rating: 8 4 8 4 17 Tap at the Tap House. Dry roast, licorice, aromatic hop nose, Black, brown lace Dry roast, dark choc, surprisingly light, dry but still mellow chewy body. Good dark chocolate to hop finish, super drinkable Great!

Tap. Brown color with tan head. Aroma is malty, chocolate, a bit roasted, some lactic. Taste is chocolate, coffee, a bit to much like cheap coffee. Medium carbonation. Very drinkable, but it reminds me a bit too much of cheap coffee in the taste.

330ml bottle. Clear, yellow-ish, pale golden colour with huge, fluffy, mostly lasting, moderately lacing, snow-white head. Grassy and citrusy hoppy aroma, notes of lemon, lemon zest, lemon drops, minimally strawy background. Taste is dry, citrusy hoppy, notes of lemon, lemon zest, lemon drops, lemongrass, minimally sweet malty basis; light body, minimally watery. Intense hoppiness, nevertheless a bit anaemic overall.

Bottle: Pale golden, hazy, small and stable white foamy layer; moderate spicy bitter-sweet lemony-hoppy nose; moderate bitter-sweet flavour, malty base still detectable, light bodied, soft and n o t watery; lingering fruity-hoppy finish with a mild pale-malty counterpart. A nice and refreshing session Lager, indeed...

Bottle. Hazy golden color with white head. Aroma is super-fresh sweet grapey hops. Taste is sweet grapey hops, crackery malts, slightly buttery, oily mouthfeel. So this is how pure Hallertauer Blanc tastes like? It’s very interesting, although maybe a bit too sweet for my liking.

Bottle. Juicy, leafy hop, light onion. Cloudy Amber, offwhite cream. Great broad hops on palate, onions fromH. B blend in. Chewy light grain, good extreme hop balance. Hop juice finish. The fresh beer is neat.

Draught at CBF Wien.
Orange, hazy body, with a medium, creamy, white head.
Aroma of white grapes, pine, flowers, citrus, some dankness, slight biscuit.
Taste follows this pretty much.
Medium, oily mouthfeel, with a lively carbonation.
Finishes moderate bitter, fruity, citric, zesty, floral, subtly piney, a bit sweet, with grapes again.

Very nice. Tastes like a fresh hop Pale Ale, wouldn’t guess this is a Lager if I didn’t know it. Lovely grape and pine notes, with the typical fresh hop character. Very fresh stuff, enjoyed this a lot.
