Description
The Knoblach inn has been in Schammelsdorf since 1880 and it has been brewing there for about this long. Today Michael Knoblach is the resident master brewer. The Knoblachs are deeply rooted in their homeland and maintain good contact with regional suppliers and farmers. They attach great importance to preserving and actively promoting the diversity of the Bamberg region. For this purpose, the raw materials are, as far as possible, bought exclusively from the region. This not only has the advantage of boosting the domestic economy, but is also reflected in the quality. The ingredients couldn't be fresher.

50cl bottle. A clear dark amber beer with a mid-sized most good lasting off-white head. Aroma of mild caramelish malt, nuts, spicy hops. Taste of caramelish, nuts, some red fruits, spicy hops, okay!

500ml bottle kindly shared by djoeye. Airy white head, spotty lacing, warm golden body with a slight haze. Mealy smell, mid-sweet. Buttery malts and mild apricot to the taste profile. Mid-sweet, dry malt-driven end. Satisfying. (Rating session with Finn and djoeye, Pivoteka H7, Tromsø 25.09.2017).

Tap at Zly casy. Mostly neutral, lagerish. Moderate body, moderate carbonation. Lightly vegetal, light light buttery. Moderate bitterness, med-low general fruitiness, grassy earthy. Good one.

Tap at Zly casy. Quite balanced overall impression. Initially grainy vegetal bready malt, medium-full body, then equaled by moderate bitterness and grassy earthy hops character. The finish is dry, vegetal. Not the best beer, not bad neither.

Fra flaske spandert av djoeye. Delt med ham og Rune hos førstnevnte 25 Sep 17. Mørk aprikosfarget. Middels høyt skum som daler sakte. Lett krydderaroma. Smaken litt smørmalt. Tørr ettersmak.

Bottle from Landbierparadies. Clear yellow, white foam. Lots of citrus peel, grass. Malty but also dry and bitter. Reminds me a lot of Bavarian pilseners. Easy drinkable. Very nice.

Bottle. Golden chestnut, offwhite lace. Nutty and earthy roast aroma, light hay. Chewy fullbodied, mellow sparkles. Light rusty roast, walnut ice cream, a hint smoke, grassy and herbal finish, light rural rough and real.

Bottle. Clear dark copper color with large eggshell head, the texture of which is the only thing that keeps me from giving a 5 in appearance. Aroma is nutty, earthy, bready. Taste is nutty, earthy, dark bread, super-soft mouthfeel with natural carbonation. Excellent and flavorful rustic Dunkles, and not sweet at all!
