Cask at Smithfield, Derby. Pours golden amber with minimal off-white head and good lacing. Aroma has floral hops together with citrus and tangerine. In the mouth it is slightly bitter and quite juicy (though a little watery) with plenty of thick cut marmalade, hops, pine and oranges. Finish is bitter and slightly spicy. It’s reasonable if a little bland.

Gravicask at Nottingham Robin Hood Beer and Cider Festival, first day. Shared with Finn. Almost naked at the top, scattered lacing, amber coloured body, near clear. Moderate spiced fruity smell. Flavoured with ripe orange, mid-sweet berries, and pale malts. Bittersweet finish. Medium bodied. Just alright. (Nottingham 12.10.2022).

Cask (gravity) at Smithfield, Derby. Pours a golden amber, and has malts and corn in the aroma. In the mouth it is sharp and bitter with a creamy texture, and traditional hops to the fore. Flavour is mainly thick cut marmalade, but with an underlying sweetness. Finish is quite dry. This is a decent “best bitter”.
