Appearance: opaque deep brown to black with a large tan frothy head of unexpectedly good retention. Aroma: smoke, dark malts, roasted barley, light insulating tape (or peat), chocolate. Taste: light sweet, rich malts, roasted, smoked, chocolate, light peat, vinous notes, some hop present, light to medium ending bitterness. Palate: rather smooth, medium-bodied, average carbonation. Overall: nice one. Hidden alcohol. Complex, smooth.
