Pint can from Woodman’s Oak Creek, 10/15/22. Dark wheat ale indeed. Looks like a stout. Near black, medium tan head, average retention. Aroma of rye bread, gingerbread, wheat, spice, molasses. Taste is wheat, molasses, graham cracker, vanilla, dark fruits. Well balanced. Very dark, dark, dark, dark for the style Nice.

Pint can, 10/10/22. Aroma of floral notes, honey, bready malt. Taste is tea, bready malt, stone fruit, honey, earth, floral notes. A bit of bright citrus in the very end. Well balanced. Nice.

Pint can from Niemuth’s, 10/7/22. Dark purple, medium tan head, below average retention. Aroma of berry, lemon, graham cracker. Mild tartness. Taste is tart lemon, berry, vanilla. Strong tartness, a rarity for these kinds of beers. Tad bit thin.

Pint can from Woodman’s Oak Creek, 10/4/22. Hazy dark red, large tan head, good retention. Aroma of toffee, piney hop. Taste is butter toffee, piney hops. Simple, well balanced, reminiscent of Arrogant Bastard (a beer which I haven’t had in many years and need to try again). Bitterness is low. A little disappointing for me. Overall a nice beer. Young Blood, make this with some strong bitterness and I’ll probably give it 5/5.
