Pours black with a dense tan head (nitro). It has a rich aroma of chocolate and coffee. The flavor has roast malt and chocolate dominating with some coffee and alcohol noticeable. It’s well balanced, not letting the big malts get too sweet. Smooth mouthfeel of a nitro beer. Full bodied. Really tasty.

The menu called this one a cascadian dark ale. Ie. Black IPA. It lacks the hop level for that though, so I was puzzled. To me it’s more like a schwarzbier. The description, which I lifted from another site, makes more sense. It really does seem more like schwarzbier than a stout, porter, or black ipa. Anyway… Pours near black with a small light tan head. There’s a nutty, roast malt aroma. The flavor is nutty and roasty with mild hops bitterness. Calling this a black IPA is odd as it doesn’t have that level of hops. It tastes really good though.

Pours near black with a small tan head. Smells of roast malt and resinous hops. Flavor is moderately bitter and roasty. Hop resin is obvious but balanced. Good.

Pours clear gold with a two finger white head. Smells of grainy, biscuity malt. The flavor is of grainy, slightly caramelly malt with a little balancing hops. Easy drinking. Pretty decent.

Pours amber with a small head. This smells like chili peppers with maybe some caramel malt. The flavor is led by the peppers and they bring some heat. It’s sweet with some underlying caramel and a vague fruitiness that might be mango.

Pours mostly clear copper with a lasting white head. It smells of citrus and tropical fruit with hop resin. The flavor is of cherries, citrus, pine, and caramel. It’s pretty bitter but not the total kick in the teeth I expected at 107ibu. There’s a big malt backbone and overall is very enjoyable.

This one is hard to categorize. I could have gone with fruit, but to me the lavender dominates the aroma, flavor, and even the appearance. Anyway, it’s purple. It’s hazy purple and smells like lavender and lemons. The flavor is heavy on the lavender with some underlying lemon and spice. It’s light, sweet, and kind of watery. It’s certainly odd. I didn’t hate it, but it doesn’t work too well.
