Comparing all three versions of this beer with my brother and my girlfriend. Pours a very clear gold with a very small, almost nonexistent head. Aroma is malty, floral, vinous, grapes, nutmeg, spices, red wine. Big body. Flavour is malty, quite sweet, rich. Spices, some caramel, red wine. Very different from the white wine version, much more round, richer and with a nice red wine note. Lovely barley wine.

Comparing all three versions of this beer with my brother and my girlfriend. Pours a very clear gold with a very small, almost nonexistent head. Aroma is light malts, floral, vinous, grapes, nutmeg, spices. Big body. Flavour is somewhat malty, quite sweet but with a light acidic acidic touch. Spices, white wine, boozy and a touch of hops. Nice barley wine, but more like a quadrupel actually, very Belgian in character.

Pours dark with a slightly tan head. Aroma is sour cherry, dark malts, dark chocolate, some coffee, wood and barrel, red wine. Big body. Flavour is vinous, rich and with complex dark malts. Sour cherries, almond, molasses and caramel. Cacao and rich coffee linger for a long time. Light acidity and red wine flavour with underlying wood. Wow! I'm very impressed - a lovely, complex impy with lovely barrel notes from the red wine.

Had this at some point before but got another in a present, so I can rate it now. Pours very dark with a small tan head. Aroma is very roasty, chocolate, espresso roast, some underlying hops. Medium to big body. Flavour is intense dark malts, chocolate, roasted barley, hoppy, herbal. Almost more a hoppy stout with all the roast flavour, but either way a very nice beer.

Hat etwas Cider-mässiges, gleichzeitig kommen die Trauben klar raus. Nahe auch am Schaumwein. Man merkt die Prozente. Sehr spritzig, top.

hazy pale yellow colour, large, though not too stable white head; aroma of peach jam, canned apple, floral and biscuity notes; bittersweet taste with the same notes as can be felt in the aroma; quite enjoyable

500ml crowler can. Jet black colour with average, thick, creamy, moderately to mostly lasting, moderately lacing, dark beige to tan head. Roasty, chocolately, dark malty and resinous, grassy, slightly citrusy hoppy aroma, notes of dark chocolate, green onion, tangerine, orange zest, subtle hints of coffee. Taste is bitter, tart-ish, resinous, grassy and citrusy hoppy, minimally sweet, roasty, chocolately, dark malty, notes of dark chocolate, lemon, tangerine, some coffee, a touch of green onion; lingering, bitter and tart-ish, citrusy hoppy finish. Watery texture, smooth and soft palate, very fine, slightly prickly carbonation. Superbly balanced, very refreshing, highly drinkable - excellent!
