First off thanks to Ken for his keeping up on entering new brews. On tap at Sockeye Boise. Pours out a cloudy orange topped with a small bubble head. Aroma was of belg yeast notes, sweetness along with some fruit. Taste much like the aroma belg spice/yeast, some sweetness and floral notes, and as IndianaRed said a little "band-aid". Overall not to bad.

On tap at the BP. Hazy orange with a short lived coarse dishwater head. Floral and fruity aroma and a flavor that is mild, yeasty and a little sweet. Some band-aid mediciney notes as well. Not a very bold Abbey but a nice twist from the standard line up here.

On tap at Sockeye Boise. Pours out black topped with a small cream head. Aroma was holly hops lots of fresh floral and citrus hops. Taste was all the hops on the nose and then some. Lots of grapefruit peel bitterness along with a light roast to help hold this one together. I am pretty happy that the local guys keep trying to do some big beers.

On tap at the brewpub. Well it is definately black. Not the thick viscous of an imperial stout though. A hoppy roasted nose, with a little fruity, graoe jelly type thing. Bitter, but exactly imperial, the roastedness seems to mute the sharp bite of the hops a bit. The trailer dissipates very quickly. I have a few black IPAs snd been underwhelmed by them all. This one is prtetty good. -tried this again 12/30 and am liking the fresh hoppy citrusy aroma more than I remember. Very nice. Noticing less any roasted flavors this time. Not sure if it could be the effect of sitting in the keg(s) for another 6 weeks, but it is better than I remember.

On tap at Sockeye. Light copper color with a nice head and small amount of lace left in the glass. Plenty of citrus and flower aroma. Real smooth taste with the hops overpowering the malt. Nice smooth finish at the back of the mouth. The is a real nice beer.

Were to start had this one first at the Eco Brew Fest and then later that night at Toby’s from a Growler and then the next day at Sockeye on Tap. I didn’t take any notes untill the brew pub pour. Pours out a brown with some red highs topped with a sand head. Aroma was of light smoke some light roast. Taste was more of the light smoke a little burtn toast and some smoked meat. Pretty light on the smoke for a smoked beer.

On tap at Sockeye Brewing Boise, Pours out a dark brown almost black topped with a sand head. Aroma of dark roast, some chocolate sweetness and some citrus hops. Taste was much more of the porter side roast and malt. A little citrus hop and a nice bitterness.
