Description
A small independent brewery based in Northern Ireland with a belief in simplicity and a knack for brewing pretty good beer.
Like many good ventures, Modest Beer was born in a parent’s garage in Holywood, County Down when Chris Morris, a tax accountant by day, brewed a small experimental batch of Kölsch for a friend’s restaurant. Within two years we moved to a much larger brewery in Randalstown. We never set out to brew the best beer in Northern Ireland, but maybe someday we will.

Can from Appellation Wines. Appearance - murky yellow and lively. Creamy snow white head. Nose - creamy peach and ripe melon. A light suggestion of pine. Taste - orange, melon and apricot. Pine and resin dries it out. Palate - light bodied, creamy middle, dry finish. Overall - this is very balanced. Nice! --- Beer aliased from original tick of A Match Made In Heaven on 04 Jun 2021 at 19:06 - Score: Appearance - 6 | Aroma - 7 | Flavor - 7 | Texture - 8 | Overall - 8. Original review text: Can from Appellation Wines. Appearance - murky yellow to orange. Big fluffy white head. Nose - orange and light apricot. Taste - orange, orange zest and a little mango this time. Palate - creamy texture, light to medium bodied. Dry-ish finish. Overall - when I poured it, I thought perhaps I should've loaded it as a NEIPA, but on reflection, it's Pale rather than IPA strength and it does have decent bitterness.

Can. Very hazy orange beer, good bubbly pale cream colour head. Pleasant nose of piney tinned tropical fruits. Palate is light, mildly dry and has good fine minerally carbonation. Slightly thin malts, but just about sweet enough. Hops bring crisp pine and light bright orange. These are quickly matched and the subsumed by savory hop skunk and a little hop spice. Trace of ripe mango. Crisp finish. Fully flavoured IPA, but but not singing for me, not quite enough hop brightness.
