Super clear golden coloured body with a very thin, just over a single centiemtre tall pure white head. Aroma of funky malts, a lot of bread, yeast, light skunk and a heavy and perhaps overwhelming astringent metallic note along with a very faint amount of lemons with almost no hops to speak of and absolutely no sugars. Light-bodied; Very strong malty and astringent metallic flavours at first show with a lot of very funky skunk (even with a light porous/green bottle here) and medicinal/dry/herbal flavour and a good deal of both yeast and bread qualities without any sugars nor any hop flavours at all. Aftertaste is very dry, super pungent, a bit herbal and extremely malt heavy/focused with a lot of deep, astringent and flavourful qualities that come out without anything very 'nice' or enjoyable from them at all. Overall, a pretty abtly named beer as this could be just as typical as drinking a green shaded bottle of Moretti, Peroni or really any traditional macro-Italian lager, which isn't really a complement, but with a beer being brewed in Virginia, it perhaps is a good thing. Overall, a nice enough example or name of a reproduction of the real thing, which I'm not necessarily a fan of, but still can appreciate. I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can, purchased from Whole Foods in Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia on 16-June-2020 for US$3,99 sampled at my house here in Washington on 30-August-2020.

Pint can from Meridian Pint. Poured a clear medium-dark yellow color with a medium sized white head. Aroma was super crisp. Sweet, crisp, enjoyable. Light grain, some herbal notes, grassy. Pleasant.

Super clear golden coloured body with a very thin, pure white head that fades relatively quickly. Aroma of light grain, a hint of lemons, some very slight astringent metallic notes and a smooth yet noticeable breadiness from the very light lager yeasts. Light-bodied; Sharp grainy and biscuity flavour shows at first with a distinct, very light and smooth malt character that is easy-drinking and slightly astringent with a metallic twang, but then some support in the form of light sugars and a dose of fresh squeezed lemon juice is noticeable right afterwards and balances things out a touch. Aftertaste is dry, biscuity, malty, yeastie and having quite a bit of character for such an easy-drinking, low-alcohol lager with the characteristics that you'd want from a light lager, but still going down very easily in the summer heat here in Virginia. Overall, a pretty nice light lager with some strong metallic, citrus and biscuity malt notes, but all very easy-drinking yet complex. A good beer for the summer here in the Mid-Atlantic region and one that would be recommended if you're looking for that or an escape from the super hoppy beers that are typically out there. I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can, purchased from Whole Foods in Pentagon City (Arlington), Virginia on 14-August-2020 for US$3,99 sampled at my house here in Washington on 24-August-2020, just ten days later.

Green onion and some orange peel. Pours hazy golden with decent head. Hop tang finish. Not a lot here. Tall can.

On tap at Wakefest. Pours black with medium tan head that lasts. The aroma is roast, port, wood, rye. Slick body, rye, wood, dark fruit, boozy, very good.

Crystal clear golden and light copper coloured body with a thinnish, single to perhaps two centimetre tall pure white head. Aroma of crisp grain, light citrus and resin and a dash of pineapple and pine noticeable as well. Light to Medium-bodied; Assertive malted barley notes show at first with a lot of fresh cut grass and hay notes along with some stronger orange and citrus flavours that shows a light bitterness from grain and the hop notes, but ending with a light sweetness and a dash of pepper as well. Aftertaste shows some candy sugar and grassy notes with a light bitterness and some more floral notes than a typical East Coast IPA would show. Overall, a nice and balanced [decidedly] East Coast IPA with a lot of grain and malt notes and not much bitterness, but what is there is stemming from citrus, pine and grasses. Not a bad beer and way more old school, but fairly typical for the style in a good/unassuming way. I sampled this twelve ounce can, purchased from Whole Foods in Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia on 09-June-2020 for US$2,99 sampled at my house here on the Eastern Shore of Virginia in Hacksneck, Virginia on 13-June-2020, one last time.

Ever so slightly hazy pure golden yellow and very slightly tinted with copper and a very thin, single centimetre tall off-white head. Aroma of resin, funky, grass, flowers, hay, biscuity malt and a dash of sugars. Medium-bodied; Very crisp grassy and floral flavours dominate at first with some moderate bitterness from hops, but also a dry and slightly malty finish with a dose of yeast, bread and a tiny bit of grapefruit and orange citrus notes at the end. Aftertaste is very crisp and clean with some cleanser, grass and floral notes coming out stronger towards the end, with a light bitterness, but relatively straight forward. Overall, a fairly nice beer that shows a very dry, grassy and floral IPA that doesn't show any of the Imperial status at all, but does have a good dry profile, almost on the 'brut' side of things. Nice to try, but not great, nor worth going out to try and find - even locally! I sampled this sixteen ounce can, purchased from Whole Foods in Arlington (Clarendon), Virginia on 06-May-2020 for US$4,49 sampled at home just five days later at my house here in Washington on 11-May-2020.

Pure golden coloured body with a nice, two to three centimetre tall off-white and tan head. Aroma of amazing yeast notes with some bananas, bubble gum, dry citrus, coriander seed and fresh allspice, all with a lot of wheat and floral elements, very fragrant throughout. Light to Medium-bodied; Deep robust floral and perfumey notes show first with the yeast, light bread and softer spice elements showing through near the end with the curacao and coriander seed the strongest, along with some light sweetness from fruit and candy sugar, all with a defined grassy quality and a touch of hay towards the end. Aftertaste shows mainly the light wheat and malt notes, but a ton of yeast complexities and a bit of sugars to complement the drier notes. Overall,  a nice and dry saison with a majority of the flavours coming from the yeast, but some sweetness as well, especially at the end. Worth grabbing if you can find it, and especially if you like the style. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Whole Foods in Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia on 12-April-2020 for US$2,50 sampled at my house here in Washington on 13-April-2020,  just a day later, a few blocks away.
