75oml bottle from my father purchased somewhere in Richmond I would assume. No date on the bottle, so I have no clue how old this is, but as the only rate is from 1.5 years ago it could be pretty old. Pours reddish-brown with a creamy, frothy beige colored head and some light, drippy lacework. Aroma is nutty and caramel malts. Some good toffee, earth, and toast notes coming through as well. As it warms a nice orange / fruitiness comes through too. It tastes a little sweet and fairly nutty. Earthy, with just a hint of orange. Really nice malt-forward flavor that doesn't come anywhere close to cloying. As you might guess, it does not have much bitterness at all. It is a little too lively carbonated, but otherwise, the drinkability is pretty high. Honestly, tone down the carbonation a bit and I could drink a ton of this, as is, it makes for a great low(ish) ABV nutty winter beer. I don't think this was meant to be a cold weather session beer, but for me, it works great in that particular context.

Bottle shared at the MDBG tasting 4/4/16. Hazy orange, thin fizzy tan head, decent retention. Aroma of strong pepper, green peppercorns, pale malt. The taste is yeast, pepper pale malt. Medium bodied, high carbonation.

750ml bottle pours a bright gold with some cloudy, white head. Nose has candy, yeast, green peppercorn, mild perfume. Flavor follows, some bell pepper, vegetal, peppercorns, candy, yeast. Oily finish.

750 ml black paper wrapped bottle I brought to the Local DC Tasting. Clear yellow with off-white head. Aromas of herbs, citrus fruit and peel, light earthy notes. Tastes of herbs, citrus fruit and peel, light funk. Medium body with a dry finish.
