Hazy golden and peach coloured body with a relatively nice two to three centimetre tall off-white head. Aroma of light floral and grassy hops with a dash of hay and some light sweetness, but stronger than both of those was the malt and especially the alcohol notes. Medium-bodied; Relatively strong malt backbone with some astringent alcohol up front, but very little in the realm of bitter hops with only a dash of grassy and perfumey characteristics and not juicy, dank or complex at all - they were relatively straight forward and the flavour was more juxtaposed on malts and alcohol. Aftertaste shows the malt, light alcohol, subdued fruits and candy sweetness notes and a light hit of both bread and yeast, but again, not much in terms of hops or real characteristics. Overall, a relatively subdued IPA that borders on Imperial Status, but isn't showing much with flavours, complexity or depth. Not a bad beer to try, but I was expecting slightly better here in South Dakota! I sampled this sixteen ounce snifter on draught on my birthday here at the Independent Ale House in Rapid City, South Dakota on 30-June-2020 for US$7,00.
