16 oz can purchased at the brewery in Mission, Kansas to go. The pour is a slight haze orange golden with a foamy ½ inch head that falls quick. The aroma is floral, lemon orange citrus, a hint of grass and clove. The taste is the herbal spice yeast, followed by wheat grain, then some of the citrus fruit with more of the herbal in the finish. The palate is medium bodied, low carbonation and the lingering herbal clove finish.

16 oz can purchased at the brewery in Mission, Kansas to go. The pour is a cloudy light yellow with a frothy 2 inch white head. The head falls slow with nice lace. The aroma is super fresh, pops out of the glass with tangerine and orange citrus, tart bitter peel, sweet peach fruit, and with a floral character. The taste is the tangerine fruit up front, nice bitter character to the middle, and finishes with round peach fruit and the dry floral finish. The palate is medium bodied, soft carbonation, unfiltered mouth feel and the clean finish. Generally, I don’t get into the haze but every once in a while I get one like this that really nails the style. Great beer.

The aroma is cracker malt, straw, herbal and a hint of clove. The taste is the cracker malt and noble hops, nicely balanced. Herbal mineral towards the back. The palate is light to medium bodied, soft carbonation and the straw mineral finish. Solid.

16 oz can purchased at the brewery in Mission, Kansas to go. The pour is a mostly clear copper, almost brown cola looking with an off white smallish head. The aroma is soft roast, nut, caramel, mineral and a bit of ash. The taste is a great blend of the roast initially, moving towards the fresh and clean nut softly sweet caramel malt, and finishing dry with the ash mineral. Balance and freshness are superb. The palate is light to medium bodied, firm body despite the low abv. For a mild, as good of a palate as can be imagined. Super clean and tasty. Nailed a style I really enjoy, More please. Note: my version was 4.0% ABV.

16 oz can purchased at the brewery in Mission, Kansas to go. The pour is a hazed orange yellow with a one inch pure white foamy head. The aroma is mango guava and dry leather floral Brett character. The taste is bright and immediate Brett sharpness with the tropical fruit flavors and turning back to the leather, clove and floral yeast finish. The palate is medium bodied with soft natural carbonation and the Brett drying out the back. Nice, interesting flavor combos and unique Brett use.

16 oz can purchased at the brewery in Mission, Kansas to go. The pour is a clear golden with a foamy 1/2 inch white head. The aroma is wheat grain, tart sour, a bit of metallic, though that clears. The taste is lactic tart sour, clean wheat grain and residual funk to the finish. There is also a hint of diacetyl in the back. Similar to the metallic aroma this dissipated as the beer warmed The palate is light bodied, spritzy active carbonation and the funk finish.

16 oz can purchased at the brewery in Mission, Kansas to go. The pour is a hazed brown gold reddish with a well formed 1 inch tan head. The aroma is toast, caramel malt and a nice floral grass. The taste is rich, full nutty toffee and toasty malt with the dry of the grass carrying the finish. The palate is medium bodied with soft natural carbonation and the clean fresh malt and the grass finish. Exactly how I want an Irish red to taste.

10 oz tulip draft at Sandhills Brewing in Mission, Kansas. The pour is mostly clear copper ruby with a half inch tan head. The aroma is the sweetness of the port, black cherry tart, general sour and a hint of warming alcohol to the back. The taste is a really nice Oud Bruin base of cherry fruit, cherry skin, tart and softly sour with the wine sweetness of Port carrying the finish. As the beer warms, the oak barrel is evident as well. The palate is medium bodied, fine natural carbonation and the barrel, Port and softly boozy finish. Nice Oud Bruin balanced pleasantly the Port Barrel. Nicely done. Impressed by both of these Sandhills beers I had.

16 oz Willebecher type glass draft at Sandhills Brewing in Mission, Kansas. The pour is a cloudy yellow with a small, well formed white head. The aroma is soft grain wheat, with a soft floral and citrus hop. The taste is fresh and clean, perfect balance between the body of the wheat and the bright floral citrus hoppiness. The palate is medium to light bodied, soft natural carbonation and a clean crisp finish. Straight forward beer, executed really well.
