Description
Founded in 1900, Cervezas Ambar is an independent Spanish brewery that maintains the spirit of a constantly evolving family enterprise. With 18 beer varieties, it has more specialities than any other brand. It continues to produce beer at the same brewery where it began operations in the early part of the last century, located in the historic San José neighbourhood. There they maintain the craft processes of the 20th century, with their own malting facility and the only open vat fermentation room still in use anywhere in Spain.

Many thanks for this bottle to Marek. ladna mala buteleczka z lakierowana stylowym wzornictwem.

33 cl bottle served in Chimay chalice at my father's place (thanks, dad.) It pours clean amber with a huge, foamy, off-white head. Aroma is some strawberry, certain lemon and a disctint tinge of aspirin. Soft, bitterish, long-lasting and refreshing. Nice.

Review based on the BJCP2015 guidelines (style 2B). Bottle 33 cl - Batch L-96099 (BBF 23-07-2020). AROMA: medium-low toasty malt aroma with an overall caramelly quality. faint maillard background. APPEARANCE: pale amber color and cristal clear. medium-low ivory head, creamy, with good retention for the style. TASTE: initial medium-low malt notes starting to show oxidation (cardboard), with a low overall bread crust quality. medium bitterness with a dry and slightly bitter finish. MOUTHFEEL: medium-low body with medium-low carbonation. OVERALL: an ok amber lager-like beer that earns some points for not using E150c.

330ml can bought at Mercadona, Almuñécar. Lots of bubbles on top of a big pearl white head leaving spotty lacing behind. Clear amber body. Vague smell of doughy malts. Modest taste profile, hints of caramel and herbal hops. Bone dry end, slightly metallic on the swallow. Drinkable. (Hotel Room, Almuñécar 13.03.2020).

330ml bottle, lote: F0419 outside at Cerveceria El Bribon. A clear and warm golden body under a faint white head, poor lacing. Moderate apricot nose. Rather sweet taste of caramel and apricot. Lingering aftertaste with warmth from the alcohol. Fair enough. (Almunecar 09.03.2020).
