(Keg at SOPP’13, 20130725) The beer poured orange and cloudy. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had farmhouse, fruitiness and malts. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were fruitiness, farmhouse, sweetness, malts and bitterness. Aftertaste had earth and bitterness. A bad bad brew.

Draught @ the brewpub
Aroma is fruity and feels like some fruit candies. Also some peaches. Flavour has peaches, fruity notes, some caramel and wet paper. Finishes with gooseberry bush notes and English hops. Aroma was nice, but there’s some off-flavours ruining the show. They’re not as strong as in their earlier products though.

Cask @ 101 beers
Aroma has cocoa, some hay and chocolate. Flavour has tobacco, some peaty notes, well roasted malt, some ash, hints of chocolate and vegetables. Aroma changes to something unpleasant and sweaty after some sips. Feels slightly sour at the end of the glass. Unusual.

Draught @ the brewpub
Aroma has cocoa, semi-dark chocolate and some licorice. Flavour has roasted notes, slightly salty licorice, chocolate and some coffee. Dry finish with some ash. Quite good and rich for a 4,2% porter, makes me wonder if this is really produced by 101.

Draught@101, Tampere. Hazy orangeish amber colour with a mediumsized slightly off-white fluffy head. Aroma is yeast, some wheat and mild grains and sweet mashlike notes. Flavour is rather similar with a quite sticky tart/sour note to it. Tastes quite much the way "spent grain" smells 2-3 days after brewing, if you’ve forgotten to take out the wet malts... Mild notes of stomach acids as well.

Draught@101, Tampere. More or less very deep brown colour with a small off-white head. Aroma is yeasty, a bit tart wooden with some ashes and a bit rubbery and grainy notes. Flavour is wooden, a bit ashy and roasted with quite much yeasty and rubbery notes as well. Considering they got a lot of people buying shares/investing in the brewery, I do really feel sorry for those... It seems they’re not doing a that much better job with their own equipment compared to when their things were brewed at Lapin Voima. I must say I am surprised that even most homebrews I have tasted in my days hold a higher standard than an official brewery... Quite thin palate as well.
