Draught @ Chilifest Finland 2013
Aroma is quite typical to weissbiers with fruity and yeasty notes. Also some tickling chili that does not dominate. Flavour starts with yeasty weisse until the chili kicks in. After that it is just burning habanero all the way – down to your throat too. Once one gets used to it, some yeasty notes and vegegables do occur on some sips. I really don’t see the point of these beers where all you can taste is burning chili.

(Bottle, 0.33 l - BBE 01-14, at 101 Beers, 20130810) The beer poured black. Its head was medium sized, dense and lightly brown. Aroma had chocolate, roasted malts and sweetness. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were burnt malts, ash, sweetness and bitterness. Aftertaste was ashy and burnt. Too burnt but otherwise decent brew.

Bottled@101 Beers, Tampere. More or less black colour, small beige head. Aroma is raisins, some toasted malts and mild floral notes. Flavour is think, but has toasted malts, toffee, liquorice as well as mild wooden notes. Thin, sweet, but still not too bad considering the abv.

Aroma is light and a bit saison-like with funky yeasty notes, some citrus and hints of banana. Flavour is rather odd. It starts with tart citron, turns into some tervaleijona drops and finishes with yeasty cardboard. Stinging palate. Not your typical wheat ale.

Bright apperarance, no head, looks like filtered. Sweetish and a bit stale aroma with banana esthers, some yeasty notes and hints of hay. Flavour is sweetish and slightly ’floury’ with banana esthers, some yeasty notes and hints of tart grapefruit. Leathery and dry finish with woody notes and some alcohol, that becomes a bit disturbing after some sips. Juniper starts to linger in my mouth at the middle of the glass. No noticeable off-flavours. A bit straightforward and the juniper is too strong, but a decent sahti anyway.

33 cl bottle @ 101 Beers, BBE 07/2014
Aroma is quite light with some licorice, syrupy notes and malt. Flavour has syrupy and sweetish malt, some licorice, hints of soy sauce and cocoa. Also some toffee typical to English ales occur at the middle of the glass. Fenol-like alcohol lurks in the background but does not disturb. A bit straightforward and thin for this ABV and the syrupy notes do disturb. Not bad anyway.
