Bottle. A clear chestnut colored beer with a dense, finger thick beige head. Some lacing. Sourish burnt aroma with dark bread, prune, licorice and a spiced hint. Cloves and anise perhaps. It's medium bodied and quite dry, softly carbonated, with a strange burnt malt flavor running the show flavor wise. Sour finish too. This one was too far off the brown ale spectrum. 230903

Bottle. It's close to black in the glass, with a dense two finger light beige head. Roasted malts, prunes, coffee, charcoal hints and some alcohol on the nose. It's full bodied and lightly warming, softly carbonated, semi sweet. Roasted malts, coffee, prunes, coffee hints and a touch of alcohol in the flavor. Licorice hints. Medium length finish. An interesting beer, not foul either, but nothing special going on. 230825

Bottle. A hazy deep copper colored beer with a dense, creamy two finger light beige head. Nice lacing. The aroma has quite a lot of toffee and caramel. Dark dried fruit and some piney notes. It's full to medium bodied, softly carbonated, with a gentle carbonation. Roasted malts, hints of coffee, toffee and prunes in the flavor. Some grass and pine cones. Long finish. Too much in the direction of brown ale. Not foul though. 230825
