An orange beer with a very white head. The aroma is smoked with some light notes of malt. The flavor is sweet malty with light notes of smoke and caramel.

(Bottle 50 cl) Fully golden with an impressively tall, white head. Marked, smoky aroma. Dry and malty with very distinct notes of smoked malt. Dry, hoppy finish. A rather serious smoked. 041105

Very carbonated hazy golden beer, with both orange and greenish highlights; good dense & creamy off-white head. Cloves, some banana & citrus. Coriander-y without it being it really. Fruit (banana/citrus) aromas get more intense warming up, getting more and more fusels-filled. Dry-bitterish taste, quite some fusels. Less fruity than the nose suggests. Spices, cloves but also root-spices. Fusels and esters (not very fruity ones) again, even something fishy. Carbonation makes it nearly Champenoise , but it is quite dry at the same time. Wheat slickness. A bit better than average Weisse. Not overly ideomatic.

Amber beer with olive shine; small yellow-amber head, fast gone. Malty, caramelly, not sweet nose. If I have to search for smoke, I would think of a bakery, or of chestnuts from the campfire - rather than of smoked ham. But it is there, unmistakably. Smoke is very obvious in the taste, even when lightly, as smoked mackerel filets without the "fishy" streak. Potatoes or chestnuts from the hot ashes. "Green" flavours as aromatic plants or herbs, mossy. Light bodied, reasonably dry. I’ve had this beer before on draught (probably at GBBF). It was less smokey then, and not noticeably better. Good, but unspectacular smoked beer.

Zu Beginn ein wenig nach Schinken, ein herber Beigeschmack mischt sich im Nachgeschmack dazu. Das ganze ist gebettet in viel zu viel Kohlensäure.

Bottle (Vroni’s Bamberg): Dark amber coloured, hazy, huge rocky, lasting brownish head; shy nose: milk-chocolate, traces of coffee; quite dry, chocolatey start, light dry bitter flavour, also dry chocolatey bitter finish; not unpleasant, but a bit watery and not so terribly aromatic.

Bottled (BB 09/2005)
Dark ruby color, small tanned head. Caramelly, toffee aroma, maybe some diacetyl. Slightly sweet, easy to drink schwarzbier. Roasted malty flavors in the finish. Also some sourness.

Bottle. Smoky ham aroma. Dark amber color with little head. Smoked meat flavor with moderate hops and acidic finish. Not an extremely smokey flavor - nicely balanced.

A deep red beer with a small disappearing beige head. The aroma is sweet caramel where the flavor mixes in roasted bread and hop bitterness. An OK schwarzbier - but nothing special - served way too cold in what is supposed to be one of Denmarks best pubs?!?

An orange beer with a fine dense head. The aroma is lighly sweet and malty with a touch of smoke. The flavor is sweet caramel with roasted notes as well as a touch of smoke and a good bitter end. The mouthfeel though is a bit sticky.
