Hazy golden color, medium head. Aroma of some banana, grain, bit yeast. Slight sweet weizen, banana, bit watery. Average weizen.

On tap @ Fermentoren. This is a clear deep dark red one with a small but lacing grey beige top. Mild nose with hints of burned- and soft malts. It's hard to get anything else really. Tastes alright. A bit caramel, burned caramel sweet. Light oily in the mouth and the bubbles are about average. Perhaps a bit above. Mild minerally dry with a lurking sourness creeping up towards the finish. Not horrible, and a bit untypical for the genre, but fairly drinkable non the less. 09.01.2014

500ml Flasche. Ins Glas ergießt sich ein bernsteinfarbenes Bier mit schöner Schaumkrone. Geruch angenehm rauchig, malzig, Karamell. Geschmack leicht rauchig, röstmalzig, würzig.

Day 3 of the post Xmas Bamberg Jolly, bottle from the Rewe Bamberg shared on the train from Bamberg to Nuremberg, 26/01/14. Rich golden with a good sized off white head. Nose is straw, light citrus, grain, bready malts, faint hops. Taste comprises a bitter lemon twang, touch of spice, bread dough, touch of caramel. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, semi drying closure. Ok stuff but as per Sir Kenneth of Essex - smoked ? First I knew about that was when I saw the style on RB as I entered the rate !

Bamberg Bash Day 3. Train swig. Almost clear amber beer, big pale cream coloured head. Palate is light and airy. Sweetish malt, tangy dried fruits and a little floralness. Whisper of marmalade. Light dry finish. What smoke?

Trübes goldgelbes Bier mit schöner Schaumkrone. Geruch hefig, fruchtig. Geschmack hefig, fruchtig nach Banane, leicht würzig.
