Big white head. Hazy pale yellow body with strong carbonation. Earthy sulphury banana aroma with mealy notes. Dryish mealy banana taste with sulphury notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, mealy mouthfeel. Dryish mealy banana aftertaste with milky wheaty notes. Decent, but a bit low on the yeast character. (0.5l draft at Micro Bar, Reykjavik. Billed as "Gæðingur Hveitibjor" at 5.4%, but I assume it’s this one.)

Medium offwhite head. Hazy red body. Earthy citric aroma with barnyard notes. Bitter barnyard taste with salty resiny notes. Thin-bodied. Sharpish mouthfeel. Dry-acidic wooden salty aftertaste. Not really any good. Not sure if it’s the tap lines or the beer itself. (0.5l draft at Micro Bar, Reykjavik. Billed as "Gæðingur Red Pale Ale, 4.7%", July 2014. I assume it’s this one.)

Can shared at the Cotteridge Convention 2015. Thanks to Fergus! Pours hazy amber with a tight, creamy khaki head. The nose holds lightly tangy fruits, citrus and bread. Moderately sweet with more bready malts, light caramel. Medium bodied with average to lively carbonation. Sweet bready malt finish with low bitterness and further expressions of fruit. OK as far as Icelandic-English strong ales go.
