Dégustée au Mondial de la Bière de Montréal 2012. De couleur brune-noire et opaque. Nez de malt rôti aux notes brûlées, léger de café et de pain grillé avec des notes de fumée de bois et de houblon herbeux. Moyennement ronde en bouche avec un pétillemeent moyen ainsi qu’une texture très légèrement crémeuse. Faibles notes de fumée de bois avec des traces de fruits (petits fruits foncés) lors de l’entrée en bouche auquel se rajoute un goût de malt rôti, un moyen goût de pain grillé et des notes de chocolat noir puis en finale le goût qui ressort en est un moyen de café avec une légère amertume de houblon herbeux. Post-goût moyen, légèrement amer de rôti (faibles notes brûlées), léger de café avec des traces de chocolat.

15/12/2012 on tap @ GEIB. Nera, densa, impenetrabile, schiuma color beige-cappuccino, abbondante e incredibilmente persistente. Al naso è molto pulita, sentori di caffé, cioccolato, luppolo. In bocca è straordinariamente bilanciata, attacco dolciastro, finale caffettoso e luppolato, secco e pulito, discretamente lungo. Corpo medio, carbonazione corretta. Robust porter magnifica!

Bottle. As Hippie. Pours cloudy golden orange with white head. Nose/taste of pepper, malt, light woody pine, lemon and baked bread. Medium body. Finishes baked bread and peppercorns.

Canned, thanks Bov! Cloudy golden, coarse head. Aroma of pear, grass and gooseberry. Mid dry with well rounded mouthfeel. Loads of pleasant NZ hops - minty black currant and gooseberry. Well drinkable with quite bitter finish .Quite brilliant!

Onn tap at Henrik, Bergen. Has a hazy dark straw-yellow colour with a medium whipped eggwhite-like head. Nice aroma of hay, fruity hops, citrus and peaches. Flavours of candy, lemons, grass and hay. A bit dry in the end. Has a slick mouth feel, and a medIum bitterness. A nice and fresh ale.

330 ml bottle. Pours black with medium light tan head. Aromas of sweet dark chocolate and dark ripe fruit. Flavors of dark chocolate, black coffee, and slightly sweet hints of dates or prunes. Dry. Porter or Stout - I don’t know, but very nice.

Bottled, thanks Bov! Clear brownish amber, rich firm head. Aroma of pear and caramel. Sweet and full bodied with well rounded mouthfeel. Caramel and brandy, solidly malty notes of wood and milk chocolate. Warming finish with slight white pepper and some bitterness.
