Description
In 1994, Boston Beer Company formed the Oregon Ale and Beer Company ("Oregon Ale and Beer") to develop and market Pacific Northwest style beers. Oregon Ale and Beer markets its beers under the Oregon Original brand through a sales force separate from that which sells Samuel Adams' styles. Oregon Original ales have been brewed in Oregon at two breweries, one in Lake Oswego and the other in Portland.

Gregg LeBlanc and Walter Scheurle in charge of operations and it seems that the beer was brewed out of the Saxer Brewery in Lake Oswego and the Blitz-Weinhard facility in Portland. As far as we could tell it was brewed at Blitz-Weinhard until the plant closed in 1997.

After the plant closed, Boston Beer moved production to Cincinnati for a few more years before the brand was killed off in the early 2000s.

Bottled. Amber colour. Grapefruity hop aroma. Clean and dry with unrefined sharp malt character. Salty bitter grapefruity finish.

I had no idea this was made by BBC - is it still made? WHen I was a newbie beer geek, this had become a standard for my weekly drinking sessions. Lightly hoppy and generally clean. Some full soft sweetness bordering on caramel and crisp somewhat herbal hop flavor. A bit light in color for an amber.
