Description
The Bert’s Brewing story begins with Rob’s deep-rooted passion for brewing, which took shape during his early days as a 17-year-old homebrewer hobbyist. Immersed in books and learning everything he could about beer, he embarked on a journey to explore the brewing world.
With unwavering dedication, Rob’s path led him to various roles within the brewing industry, culminating in a transformative experience at the World Brewing Academy through Siebel and Doemens in Germany. There, he became the youngest person in the United States to earn his Master Brewer’s Certification, unveiling a world of brewing excellence and tradition.
Meanwhile, Sidney discovered her own love for beer working at a small restaurant in Newport Beach. As she climbed the ranks to a managerial position, she curated rotating tap lists, allowing her to explore and appreciate a vast array of beers from around the globe. Her passion for breweries grew, as she embarked on a personal mission to visit every brewery in Orange County, ticking them off one by one on a brewery map.
Fate intervened when Sidney found herself working as a bartender at Chapman Crafted in Old Towne Orange, where she met Rob, who was working as the lead brewer when he came back from Germany. Their shared love for the craft and a serendipitous connection blossomed into a beautiful partnership (and eventually marriage). Together, they embarked on a journey, ultimately leading them to Boise, where they sought to build a life centered around family and community.
Driven by their shared vision, Rob and Sidney set out to establish Bert’s Brewing, a true labor of love dedicated to brewing extraordinary beer. Their story intertwines passion, education, and a deep appreciation for the craft. Each pour from Bert’s Brewing represents a testament to their unwavering commitment to each other and to creating balanced and exceptional beers for their community to enjoy.

On tap at Here’s How. Clear bright light golden orange. Full lasting fine off-white head . Mild fresh floral hop character. Missing the frequent “grassy” note some FHs have. Smooth and soft carbonation.

On Tap at the Garden City brewery/taproom rather deep golden for a pale. Thin fine soapy white head and lacing. The malt flavors are also a bit full and carmely for the style. Hefty and full, almost chewy. Pleasant not obnoxious hop character. A bit tame maybe. Balanced and tasty. Fresh.

On tap at the Garden City brewery/taproom Clear light brown amber pour. Thin fine white head and lacing. Clean crisp light toasted malts. A littel of that very light almost watery "mexican lager" DNA, but the malts have a littel color and that give it a nice character. Very clean. Im thinking a difficult beer to pull off so well.
