From tap at the brewpub. Pours hazy pale yellow with a small white head. Aroma is light hoppy and fruity. Mild citric, salty and light fruity. Mild bitter and slight citric into the finish.

Draught at Monkey Paw. Hazy, amber liquid with medium off-white head. Nice lacing. Aroma of pineapple, citrus, lemon grass, light caramel and cereal. Taste is dry and light to medium bitter with notes of pineapple. A bit bland. Low to medium bodied with medium carbonation. Quite nice, sessionable.

Draught at Monkey Paw. Hazy, amber liquid with medium off-white head. Aroma of grass, citrus, mango, passionfruit, tangerine and some light caramel. Taste is dry and medium bitter with notes of tropical fruit and citrus. Medium bodied with medium carbonation. Nice and hoppy, drinkable IPA.

Draught at Monkey Paw. Almost clear, pale yellow liquid with small white head. Aroma of banana, wheat, cereal, fruity yeast esters and some light salt. Taste is dry and light bitter with some saltiness and wheaty notes. Medium bodied with low carbonation. The combination of salt and banana doesn’t work too well for me actually...

16oz can pours clear amber gold with off white head of foam leaving behind spotty lacing. The aroma offers up an odd mix of spicy to resiny sap like hop notes, biscuit malts and slivers of citrus hard candy. The taste seems to be at odds with itself as malt sweetness, biscuit malts and a bit of roasted malts are trying to blend into resiny bitter hops, spicy hops and some cherry flavored hard candy. It just isn’t coming together all that well. With all the amazing hoppy brews about town this one is a disappointment.

On tap. Pours with a very deep, opaque brown hued body with a large tan head that shows both good retention and very good lace. Aromas are of powdered chocolate, earthy, nutty, acorns, almonds. Medium hops, citrus, spicy, pine and grass. Clean fermentation character. Flavors are earthy, chocolate, acorn, nutty. Medium hops, dry and clean, low sulfur, walnut, almond, earthy malt with a light spice. Medium carbonation, medium to medium low bodied.

16oz can pours a rutty red mahogany with light tan head. The aroma offers up bold rich malt roastiness, some nuttiness and a bit of chocolaty earthiness around the edges. The taste is similar with rich malt roastiness rimmed with coffee and some nuttiness. It gets fairly dark roasty into the finish almost taking on a burnt malt note. Big bold flavor here. A robust brown ale maybe?

Can from Bine & Vine. Pours light amber with a creamy white head. Aroma of floral and citrus - it’s a bit dusty. Not understanding the malt. Full bodied. Creamy carb. I’m pretty sure I get oatmeal - there’s apparently a lot in it. The main flavor is tangerine rind. This is very hoppy. Finishing dry and bitter. Very nice.

Can from Bine and Vine. Pours copper with a slight white head. Aromas of brown sugar, resin and citrus. Full bodied with significant carbonation. First impression is brown sugar, then resin and citrus. It finishes pretty darn bitter, always with that lurking roasted malt background. Damn tasty ale. Enough hop to preserve flesh.
