Huge, pale beige-amber head, dense and condensing in a peculiar way, leaving textbook lace; orange-amber unclear beer. Creamy nose, preserved capers or gherkins, malt or greenmalt. Sweet taste with a weird, milky-sourish background. Bit of milkchocolate vying with low doses of several unidentifyable spices. Buttery, no diacetyl - sweaty? Warming up, almondy alcohol flavour. Bit fizzy acidity. Very creamy MF, buttery, slick, well bodied despite the acidic touch and carbonation. Restrained but unmistakable alcoholwarming. Disconcerting beer, seems primarily not blended well. But it is more OK to drink, than trying to analyse this one, I think.

Bottled. Apricotty orange colour, mediumsized foamy white head. Bitter fruity aroma. Bitter fruity flavour with vegetably hints. Wellbalanced. Otherwise nice but the flavour is the weak link here...

Test vom 9.8.2005, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 9,9,9,10,9,9 - 9,15

Bottled (BB 12/2006)
Rating #1400
Orange, hazy color, good cloudy head. Sweetish fruity nose (apricot, mango, sugar). Citrus acidy flavor in the start then turns more fruity, aftertaste is even a bit dry and woody.

(Bottle 33 cl) Dark golden with a reddish glow. Flat, greasy looking head sticking to the glass. Appears more full-bodied with less pronounced alcohol than it’s golden sibling. To be preferred of the two. 040798

(Bottle 25 cl) Aged sample - vintage 1988. 5% ABV in this version. Dark amber, absolutely no head and very low in carbonation. Very soft mouthfeel but very full still. Notes of both nuts and coffee - weird combination. Spicy - but again - soft. I reckon I should try this fresh one day, this sample was obviously too old. 070398

A hazy orange beer with a collapsing though lazing white head. The aroma is sweet spicy - with coriander standing out - but also yeasty. The flavor is sweet fruity with oranges being most dominant, but there’s also notes of yeast and alcohol, leading to a dry end.
