Slightly hazy golden coloured body with a little copper glow and a thick, luscious tan head. Aroma of pungent hops, grapefruit, pine, resin and a lot of alcohol tucked inside. Medium-bodied; Pungent bitterness of pine and grapefruit with a little effervescence, a good amount of alcohol and a pleasant resiny, dry finish. Aftertaste is nice and dry, pungent from the hops and showing a very small amount of citrus sweetness. Overall, a very nice IPA, showing great complexity, a nice hoppy character and a pleasant amount of sweetness and dryness - great to sample. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Total Wine in Manassas, Virginia on 13-February-2011 sampled at home in Washington on St. Patrick’s Day, 17-March-2011.

Matt from 3R6P brought this one to a beer gathering. Sampled from a 22 oz brown bottle this beer poured a dark caramel color with a small foamy beige head that faded quickly. The aroma was dry, citric, perfumey and floral. The flavor was sour caramel, floral hops and light notes of perfume, citrus and nut. Dryish and a bit off - almost sulfuric. The finish was long with sour caramel and floral hops lingering. Medium body. Eh.

22 oz bomber sent to me by bvc. Pour is a hazed orange copper with a smallish off white head. Aroma is some dirty sweetness, along with a touch of honey followed by straw and grass. Taste is the caramel honey malt, along with straw, a bit of dirty earthiness and a grainy finish. A bit unclean. This may have had a light bottle infection. Palate is medium to thin bodied, the grainy finish dries out nice enough. Thanks Brandon, fun to try a lager by Diamond Knot.

Tap at the brewpub (schooner). Pours dark amber with a creamy beige head. Rich malt aroma. Flavor is sweet, but there’s an unexpected hop offsetting it. The malt is a bit mixed. Caramel with hints of something darker. Not burnt or chocolate though. Finishes sweetish, but not overly so. Damn stuff drinks like water. Yum.

Tap at the brewpub. Pours ruddy amber with a creamy beige head. Floral aroma over a caramel backdrop. Med body. Nice mild roast caramel backbone with a lot of earthy/flroal hop. Died and gone to England.

Tap at the brewpub. Pours very pale gold with a creamy white head. Light malty? aroma. It is actually creamy. The flavor seems pale lmalt, light citrus and a touch of vanilla. It’s mildly flavored, but not all that simple. Drinks easier than water. Washed down a Blue Flamer nicely.
