0.5l bottle purchased at some Spar near Leibnitz This poured a nice bronze colour with a bedium sized head. Unimpressive malty/grainy nose. The taste is weak. A pleasant, chewy mild hopiness (that was lemony and/or metallic at times) is the focal point of this one and it continues nicely into the aftertaste, and I dig that. One can, however feel just a week, "skittish" crude malty, maaaaybe even alcoholic taste. The taste differs a lot from the crude alcohol-crude bitterness assault I recieved from some other Austrian pale bocks, and it’s understandable, as this isn’t exactly a true bock but an ice beer. So "ordinary" and yet it eludes most conventional categories.

0.5l can purchased at some Spar near Leibnitz. Goulden coloured with a medium-big thick but fluffy white head that went away at a medium pace. The nose doesn’t start off too appealing, but is lemony/herbal, dusty and a bit acidic. The taste is quite similar... quite almradlerish (damn... forgot to try that kräuterlimonade), some lemon, tea, some herbs (just a touch stale), a bit grainy, and has low profile but persistent herbal aftertaste, appealing and unappealing at the same time. Hints of the sweetener show up from time to time. Somewhat watery, which isn’t much of a surprise considering that the beer used to make this isn’t all that full bodied itself. It’s interesting and I’ve certainly had much worse, but it isn’t all that great.

A light yellow beer with a lazing off-white head. The aroma is sweet with primary notes of straw, but also light touches of caramel and some dusty hops. The flavor is boring metallic with notes of straw and malt and boring hops.

Draught. Weak bready aroma. Clear, shiny golden colour. Small white head. Nice, full flavour, not dry, but a little malty. Good mouthfeel, seems OK potent. Tastes a little lagered, but just for the right amount of time. Very süffig.

Beer no.23 of my Slovenian beerhunt. 0.5l can, 5.0% alc. It poured a yellow colour with a big white fluffy head that went away fast. The aroma was typical pale lagerish yet a bit more complex than usual, with lemon, malt, honey, fruit and dust mixing together. The taste was a letdown. Watery, subdued malty taste with hops clearly making their mark on the end of the taste and the pleasant bitterish aftertaste.

(Can 50 cl) Beautiful, golden beer with a fine, small head. Quite good body and some sweet, malty notes with only a discreet bitterness. Quite a standard lager. 240803

50% Bier, 50% Almdudler. Test vom 5.4.2005, Gebinde: Dose Noten: 10,9,10,10,12,10 - 9,95
