Description
Drygate is the UK’s first experiential craft brewery. Opened in June 2014, Drygate is a brand new brewery nestled in the historic east end of Glasgow, close to Tennents Brewery and Glasgow Cathedral. Brewing has been taking place continuously in this area since the 16th century.

Lively golden beer with a decent foamy head. Slightly sour fruit and hop aroma. Taste has a touch of sourness to it as well but overall it’s quite crisp, with the bitterness cutting through the sour fruit. Not any special but a perfectly solid pint.

On tap at Drygate Glasgow. Black coloured, small beige head, chocolate and alcohol in the nose. Roasted malt, chocolate, alcohol and whiff of wood with dryish chocolate finish. Decent stout but a bit too expensive (1/3 for a 3Β£).

On tap at Drygate Glasgow. Darker cooper coloured, small to medium sized off-white head, mild fruity nose. Malty, fruity, light caramel and mild hoppy with touch of metal in rather bitter finish.

On tap at Drygate Glasgow. Clear golden coloured, small white head, mild hoppy nose. Moderate malty, fruity and hoppy with notes of caramel and orange. Dry bitter finish. Easy drinkable beer.

Swing top bottle from Drygate. It pours hazy amber with a decent off-white head. The nose is, juicy, orange, mango, apricot, earth, candied peel, brioche and dough. The taste is crisp, bitter, orange peel, marmalade, lemony soap, sherbet, light metallic, pepper and brioche with a dry finish. Light-medium body and moderate carbonation. Crisp, bitter and rather fruity. Refreshing.
