Description
Founded in 2015, we started as a very small operation in Vietnam. We knew we wanted to make great beers of substance, but we didn’t quite know how. All we had was our do-it-yourself spirit. It was difficult to get the ingredients and equipment we needed, but we figured out how. We built our own 150L fermentation system from scratch, as well as a tiny cold room to ferment the beer. All this was done on a small patch of land, in Can Gio. A year and a half later, our capacity grew to 2000L. We owe much of this success to local Saigon tap rooms like Bia Craft, whom were committed to bringing new flavors to the local market.

Tap the Chicken Coop, Saigon. Poured a crystal clear, light yellow, almost opaque colour with a few bubbles. The aroma is grainy, sweet ginger. The flavour is moderate sweet with a light, watery, dry spicy ginger palate. Light bodied with average carbonation. A Real ginger bomb for ginger lovers!

Clear yellow. Aroma is ginger also bonbon and ginger tea some fresh herbs. Taste is spicy ginger all the way fresh slight sweetish lime underneath but hard to get. Finish is dipcy ginger all your throat long. Almost undrinkable due to the ginger spicyness. Still very well done. Had to give my first 1 for palate though...

Tap at the Chicken Coop, Ho Chi Minh City. Poured a clear dark brown colour with a thin off white head. The aroma is fudgy caramel malt, light liquorice. The flavour is moderate to strong sweet with a smooth rich super fudgy vanilla malt, light dry liqouirce hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Given that I love vanilla and fudge I was always going to like this, but I dread to think of the calories in this beer. It’s just as well I have a long walk home.

Tap at the Chicken Coop, Ho Chi Minh City. Poured a hazy yellow straw colour with a thin white head. The aroma is grainy malt, banana yeast. The flavour is light sweet with a watery grainy crushed banana palate. Ok initially but became a little sickly. Could not drink this in any kind of volume.

Tap at Biacraft District 3, Ho Chi Minh City. Poured a hazy light amber with a thin white head. The aroma is malt, citrus fruits, light medicinal, alcohol. The flavour is moderate bitter light sweet with a smooth, rich malt, fruity, warm alcohol, light mineral pepper spice, dry woody hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Ok but very rough around the edges. The fruit wants to come though but it’s being pushed well into the background by the alcohol and very bitter hops. The alcohol bitter aftertaste is not great either and that’s what you remember. This needs more work I’m afraid.
