Can from Big Trees in Arnold. Pours a garnet-brown with minimal tan head. Caramel is forward on both the aroma and flavor. A throwback to the big, cloying, malty doubles of a long time ago. Not much hop characteristic.

Tap at the Flaming Grill in West Sacramento, CA. Pours dark copper with a near white head. Aroma is spicy. Near full bodied. Fairly dry. A large amount of yeast/spice. Not exactly bitter, but there is a similar effect. Very tasty.

Tap at the Yolo Fest. Pours brassy gold with a white head. No haze. West Coast aroma. Medium body. West Coast flavor. Bitter - rather old school.

Tap at Flaming Grill Cafe in West Sacramento, CA. Pours very dark brown/black with a pretty dark tan head. Aroma of burnt dark malt and chocolate or coffee. Full bodied and drier than seems reasonable. Flavor is burnt malt and a chocolate thing - but overall this is dry and bitter stuff. Gets earthy. No heat traces. Can an IS be clean? Nicely done.

Tap at California Craft Beer Summit 2017. Pours hazy amber with a slight head. Aroma seems pine. Med body. Favor is pine/maybe citrus. Malt is sort of amberish. A little fruity; a lot bitter. Pretty good.
