Description
The Brewery Michael Plank was established in 1617. It is a small, family owned business that is now under the direction of the 16th generation Michael Plank.
The current Michael Plank is now the brewmaster and is credited with honing the traditional recipes to their current levels which have led to the company being named as the "Best Small Brewery in the World" at the 2006 & 2012 World Beer Cup! That makes Plank the only brewery to have been awarded this World Beer Cup....twice.

This is good. Poured from the bottle, it has one of the most impressive heads I have ever seen and looks like a rootbeer float. The foam takes a long time to settle. Aroma has wheat, banana, cloves, and some citrus. Flavor is very nice as well. Wheaty, with a lot more banana. Light spices, and just a touch of alcohol, but it never goes too far in this aspect. Considerable sediment in my glass. this is an excellent wheat beer and an excellent weizen bock.
