500ml tap @ Rosenberg, Reykjavik. 12.Jul.2012 Hazy yellow body and foamy head. Banana, grain and apricot to the nose, which is also mirrored in taste, also some butter,, vanilla and floral notes. Smooth. Unfortunately I think it was a bit too sweet.

33cl bottle from Vinmonopolet. Pours black with a minimal light brown head. Roasty aroma with hints of smoke, coffee, licorice, dark chocolate, dark dried fruits and caramel. Sweet and roasty with some bitterness in the finish. Quite nice, wouldn’t mind drinking it again, but there is better out ther. Still, sweet and tasty.

Bottle. A very dark one, almost black, and topped by a dense, finger-thick dark beige head. Caramel, chocolate, nuts and malts on the nose. A light smoked touch too. Could use a bit more body and maybe a bit warmth, but it’s a pleasant one anyway. Roasted malts, chocolate, caramel and a touch of smoke in the flavor. Lasting finish. A pleasant, more-ish and tasteful one I could drink a few of. 120706

Can @ hotel room, Reykjavik. I really didn’t mean to purchase a malt liquor in Iceland, let alone two, but I might as well tick it. Aroma is pretty mild, straw, grain, and really not offensive. Thick malty, super sweet, a bit lemon tangy, somewhat boozy flavor. Not incredibly horrible but I fucking hate malt liquors.

Can in hotel room, Reykjavik. This really an idiotic idea to rate every Icelandic macro pale lager but fuck it, this sounds really tasty! Clear yellow appearance with a white head. Sickly sweet pale malty, cooked corn, bullshit aroma. Sweet, mild celery/corn/veggie, a little skunky flavor. Absolutely horrible. Best before April 2013, so I guess I got it at its peak, ha. I need a Bud Light Platinum to wash out my mouth after this winner.

Can in hotel room, Reykjavik. Clear yellow appearance with a bubbly white head. Fairly smooth, grainy, hay aroma. Somewhat sweet, dull bitter hoppy, grainy, straw flavor. One of the better icelandic pale lagers but still not very interesting.
