Bottle. A black beer with a small, dense, dark beige head. Roasted, meaty nose with licorice and some coffee. The flavor has roasted malts, coffee, licorice and some chocolate. Full body, and a lasting coffee-like roasted finish with a touch of licorice. A pleasant and surprising stout. Rating: 7-4-7-4-15-3.7. 110330

Bottle, courtesy of saxo. A dark brown beer, seemingly see-through, and topped by a dense, tan head. The aroma has a lot of coffee, as well as chocolate and a touch of prunes. It’s smooth and medium bodied in the mouth, quite sweet in the flavor and with coffee and chocolate. Drying towards the end. A quite decent one, a pity the aroma is so boring. Certainly one of the Icelandic beers I could drink more of. 110416

Bottle 33 cl. Courtesy of saxo. Pours a clear yellow with a tiny white head. Odd sulphurous and metallic note. Medium body, odd and strangely skewed malt profile with quite some metal notes. Rather hoppy finish. A bit of a mess really. 160411

Bottle, courtesy of saxo. It pours a clear golden body and a dense, white head. The aroma is weak, with pale malts and a fruity hoppyness. Medium body, smooth carbonation, and a grassy, grainy flavor with some bitterness showing up towards the end. Very dry. Maybe not entirely clean, but it tastes quite nice anyway, and slakes the thirst well I guess. 110416

Bottle bought in Reykjavik, March 2011. Clear amber with a creamy, slightly tan head. A lot of malt both in the aroma and taste. Light notes of hops. Sweet taste with toffee and some dried fruit. Also some notes of alcohol. Medium carbonation and a short aftertaste. The body was medium. Drinkable but not that exciting.
