Description

33cl Bottle, thanks Thijs&Marieke! As Vincent. Hazy golden colour, white head. Aroma of lots of orange peel, coreander, spice, sweet malts, some citrus, a bit Leffe Blond like. Flavour is medium sweet, spicy, bitter, coreander, orange peel, orange, yeast, bittersweet finish. Light bodied. Decent Belgian Ale.

Bottle @ home. Slightly unclear pale yellow color, fizzy off-white head that disappears virtually instantly. Smell and taste some malts, dough, lightly yeast and a distant hint of orangepeel. Low to average body and carbonation. Drinkable but that’s about it.

Bottle @ home. Clear yellow golden color with small yeast particles floating in it, huge white to off-white head that lasts for a long time. Smell and taste lightly malts, hay, sweetish, a little zesty and some orangepeel somehow. Average body, suitable carbonation.

Bottle from brewery, BB Jan 2015, large sample. Slight hazy golden color, short frothy white head. Aroma of slight grainy malt, hay, slight spicy, but not as much as you would expect from a Tripel. Slight sweet in taste, not much bitterness. Very watery all in all and not a lot of character. Boring stuff.

Bottle from Veluwse Heidebrouwerij, large sample. Clear golden color, medium frothy white head. Aroma of a bit hay, farmhouse, apple cider, slight spicy. Slight bitter in taste, more malty and nutty even. Quite sharp carbonation. Brewer told it did not turn out the way it was intended and indeed it is not completely balanced, but it is ok for what it is.

Bottle from the brewery, BB May 2015, large sample. Dark cola brown color, short frothy lasting brown head. Aroma of raisin, molasses, slight roast, quite some spicy yeast, prune, toffee. Taste has quite some alcohol besides lots of sweetness, slight roasty bitterness. Soft carbonation, medium body. Powerful abt/quad and quite typical to the style. I almost forgot how well I can enjoy this style at times.

Bottled from Veluwse Heidebrouwerij, BB 12 2015, large sample, served in a trappist glass. Pours a slight hazy golden to orange color, with a big loud sssshing cola kind of head. Seriously, its alive! I have never seen anything like this, except for soda pops, but never this long. In the end, only a small bit of lacing remains. Aroma of orange, spicy yeast, slight high fusels, spices. Bit sweet in taste, quite watery. Bit sticky palate. Finishes with a bit cola light. After swallowing, it seems the boiling of the co2 continues. Wow, Im definitely not going to finish this. Flavor is not that bad, except for watery light soda pop. But carbonation makes it impossible to drink. Drain pour after three sips and Im still burping half an hour later on.
