75 cl. bottle shared with Rick and Joey @ Rick. Murky brown with a thin off-white head. Caramel aroma with some red wine notes and oak. Sweet taste with a long low-bitter finish. Low carbonation. Very nice vinous barleywine.

Bottle. Color: Dark red, like red wine. Pink / purple head. Aroma: Grapes, tannins, malt. Taste: Vinuous, quite strong red wine notes, dry-ish, tannins, grapeskin, malty and lightly hoppy background. Over medium body, below average carbonation. Over moderate sweet, light bitterness going to moderate at the finish, slightly vinuous tartness. Very dry, astringent mouthfeel at finish. Hard to rate as a beer. Very wine-like, very vinuous start, some more beer influences towards and at the finish. Likeable though, but not outstanding.

Bottle at home. Clear golden with white head. Sweet malts, marzipan, quite sugary with soft spices, a touch of alcohol and indeed a light sparkling white wine character. Quite sweet, light bitter. Solid bodied with sparkly carbonation and a light dry finish. Quite sweet, but at least it's not boozy. Decent beer overall.
