Description
In 1894 the Obergärige Brauerei Heinrich Reissdorf was founded by Heinrich Reissdorf in the Cologne Severins neighbourhood. In 1923 the brewery started to brew bottom-fermented beers and it became the Privat-Brauerie Heinrich Reissdorf. Through the years it stayed in the family.

In 1996, the Privat-Brauerie Heinrich Reissdorf acquired today's company premises in the industrial area of Cologne-Rodenkirchen. With the new production facility, a brewery was created, which is equipped with the latest brewery technology and meets the highest quality standards.

Draft at Craft Brewed. Pours a clearish gold with a finger of foam that lingers. Grainy nose, lots of fields of grain. Clean and crisp, faint sweetness. Light hops on the finish. What a Kölsch should be. Very enjoyable.

About as run-of-the-mill as you can get with a Kolsch, grainy and semisweet, light and smooth, hints of fruity lager esters mixing with modest floral hops on the finish. Better than plenty of American takes on the style, but still ultimately leads to the opinion, Eh, it’s just a kolsch.

0.33 l bottle from ’P&M Getränke’, best before November 2017. Clear, golden yellow with a medium large, frothy, stable, white head. Sweetish, slightly grassy aroma of wort, grains and some straw. Rather sweet, malty and slightly grassy taste of mainly wort, grains and hints of straw, followed by a short, minimally bitter, slightly grassy finish. Thin to medium body, slightly effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Okay!
