Description
In 1894 the Obergärige Brauerei Heinrich Reissdorf was founded by Heinrich Reissdorf in the Cologne Severins neighbourhood. In 1923 the brewery started to brew bottom-fermented beers and it became the Privat-Brauerie Heinrich Reissdorf. Through the years it stayed in the family.

In 1996, the Privat-Brauerie Heinrich Reissdorf acquired today's company premises in the industrial area of Cologne-Rodenkirchen. With the new production facility, a brewery was created, which is equipped with the latest brewery technology and meets the highest quality standards.

Bottle. Pours clear yellow with a small fizzy white head and some lacing. Aroma is corn, grass, biscuit, chemicals. Flavor is the same, lightly sweet, light grassy bitter. Corny notes prominent, a bit metallic on the finish. Light body. Not so hot.

Draft at the source. Clear golden color, fluffy white head. Aroma of peppery citrus. Taste is sweet citrus, bitter finish.

A generally sweet aroma with touch of pale malt. Flavour has sweet, slighty sticky feel. Malty with only a light bitterness. Quite a soft mouthfeel although gassy enough to cause some loud burping!

Tap at Reissdorf, Koln, 26/04/13. Clear pale golden with a good sized frothy white head. Nose is pale malts, grass, light citrus, light caramel tones. Taste comprises citrus, pale malts, grass. Medium bodied with fine carbonation, crisp finish. Decent enough Kolsch.

0.5L Bottle at home, Clear golden colour with a white foam head. Honestly i can’t describe any aroma, taste is good and drinkable, but nothing special. One of the lesser Kölsch i have had.

500 ml bottle into pint glass, no bottle dating. Pours fairly crystal clear golden straw color with a 2 finger dense white head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of lemon, pear, apple, pepper, floral, grass, cracker, bready grain, and floral earthiness. Damn nice aromas with good balance and strength of malt, hop, and light yeast ester notes; very clean. Taste of lemon, pear, apple, floral, pepper, grass, cracker, bready grain, and floral earthiness. Lingering notes of light fruits, floral, grass, light pepper, bread, and light earthiness on the finish for a bit. Great flavor balance of malt, hop, and light fruitiness; with an extremely clean flavor profile and no cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth and crisp mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is very well hidden with zero warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is a highly excellent Kolsch! Great clean and balanced flavor profile, with plenty of flavor for 4.8%; and extremely smooth to drink. A highly enjoyable offering.

how cums i never tsted this before, must have been lost. anyway, its a fresh bottle. 3$. poured into a styrofaom cup i can see its simply pale lager on appearance, nice head tho. has some of that green bottle attribute but not much. goes down pretty easy, could be a bit colder, 4-sure. from a styro cup it drinks no less refreshing than bud on tap. less than 5% makes this acceptable for a rinse. yes, good head every time. american versions of kolsch are over the top compaqred to this well done gentleman beer. no ill effects on the finish.

Bottle @ home. Clear yellow color, small to medium sized fair to good lacing white head. Smell and taste malts, fresh, lightly some grains, lightly bitter. Nice beer, easy to drink.

Bottle at Maders. Pours a filtered yellow-tan, big fluffy white head, lots of carbonation bubbles. Lemony brewhouse aroma. Lemony bitter up front, with a smooth golden malt body. Clean and classic, a solid Golden Ale. Light zest fruity tones, some toastiness. Light to medium bodied.

Bottle. Sweet grainy malt aroma. Clear gold with a large white head. Sweet grainy malt and light peppery herbal hops flavor. Light body, lively carbonation.
