Description
In 1894 the Obergärige Brauerei Heinrich Reissdorf was founded by Heinrich Reissdorf in the Cologne Severins neighbourhood. In 1923 the brewery started to brew bottom-fermented beers and it became the Privat-Brauerie Heinrich Reissdorf. Through the years it stayed in the family.
In 1996, the Privat-Brauerie Heinrich Reissdorf acquired today's company premises in the industrial area of Cologne-Rodenkirchen. With the new production facility, a brewery was created, which is equipped with the latest brewery technology and meets the highest quality standards.

bottle - Finally, my 100th German beer rating. Pours clear gold with a white head. It has a mild, hoppy aroma with some bready malt. The flavor is sweet, bready, grainy malt and a decent amount of crisp hops. It’s light bodied and drinkable enough, but nothing special. It brings to mind many of the light European everyday brews, be they ales or lagers. Rerate in 2012 - 5/3/6/2/9. Averaging with original 6/3/6/3/12.

8th August 2008. On tap at GBBF. Refreshing citrussy pale gold beer. Very dry finish with more citrus. A little too dry to be great.

Bottle. A clear, straw-colored beer topped by a small, white to off-white head. Rather fruity on the nose, leaving the pale malts in the background. Quite grassy too, with some peppery hop notes way behind the other aromas. Fruity, straw flavor with a good addition of pale malts. Some slightly peppery hops gives a weak but appropriate bitterness, cleaning the palate nicely. Crisp, quenching and mediuim-bodied. A bit sweet finish maybe, where the bitterness are left too much in the back. Kölsch is a hard style to brew, and even though this is not the best of the locals, it’s a pretty good and quenching one. 091008

Bottle. Boured pale gold with medium white head. Lots of carbonation. Light grassy and sweet malt aroma. Light malt flavour, crisp edge. Not much finish. This is a serviceable session beer, or after hard work on a hot day.

Bottle. Pours a clear golden with a small white quickly diminishing head. The aroma is a skunk corn malt. Decent spotty lacing on the glass. The taste is a crisp light malt with sweet clove and banana. Easy to drink a decent kolsch from reissdorf.

bottle, pours light gold, thin white head. Next to no aroma, light malt? Good delicate malt and hop flavors throughout, ending with a dry bitterness. Very refreshing, but lets down in most categories.

Draught @ Cicero’s in St. Louis. Pour is light with a bit of a white head and aromas of wheat and light fruit with some herbs. Flavors are a sweeter mix than I remember from a kolsch... apples and lemons with a touch of yeasty grain. Nice.

Bottle. Average-size, white head that slowly diminishes. The body is clear light yellow. The nose is malty with toasted grain and moderately hoppy with grass and herbs. The flavor is lightly sweet and lightly bitter. The finish is lightly bitter with some sweetness lingering. Light to medium body and watery texture. Plenty of carbonation. A nice enough drinker though not as crisp and clean as one would expect of this style.
