Description
In 1894 the Obergärige Brauerei Heinrich Reissdorf was founded by Heinrich Reissdorf in the Cologne Severins neighbourhood. In 1923 the brewery started to brew bottom-fermented beers and it became the Privat-Brauerie Heinrich Reissdorf. Through the years it stayed in the family.
In 1996, the Privat-Brauerie Heinrich Reissdorf acquired today's company premises in the industrial area of Cologne-Rodenkirchen. With the new production facility, a brewery was created, which is equipped with the latest brewery technology and meets the highest quality standards.

Pours with a small, fizzy, white head that goes quick. Yellow body. Aroma of corn, and some fruits. Taste is sweet, light corn and even lighter fruit. Fizzy mouthfeel.

Draught @ Cicero’s in St. Louis. Pour is light with a bit of a white head and aromas of wheat and light fruit with some herbs. Flavors are a sweeter mix than I remember from a kolsch... apples and lemons with a touch of yeasty grain. Nice.

Bottle. Average-size, white head that slowly diminishes. The body is clear light yellow. The nose is malty with toasted grain and moderately hoppy with grass and herbs. The flavor is lightly sweet and lightly bitter. The finish is lightly bitter with some sweetness lingering. Light to medium body and watery texture. Plenty of carbonation. A nice enough drinker though not as crisp and clean as one would expect of this style.

33 cL bottle, trade with Koelschtrinker. Pours clear and pale yellow with a one finger thick white head. Light hoppy and mild grainy aroma. Flavour is clean and crips hoppy, very classic yet vibrant kölsch. Light, fresh bitterness in the finish. Nice and clean kölsch, thanks Roman!

Draft at Ludwig’s Schnitzelhouse and Restaurant, Charlottesville. Slightly hazy gold color with a thick, creamy head. Almost as if it had been on nitro. Crisp clean taste with a slight sourness (not a bitterness). Not too terribly interesting, but good and easy drinking.

500ml bottle from Battersea BF 08. Pale gold with lasting white head. Typical lemony light style of beer. Man, I love kolsch. So refreshing and light. Just so beautifully lemony, light and refreshing. Great lager. If I ever did a hard days work, this is the beer I would want first of the evening to slake the thirst and refresh my body and brain.

The bottle looks not too bad, but not spectacular. The beer is very light, tastes very fruity, zippy, a very drinkable beer. Maybe the palate is for a Kölsch a little bit too intense.

Honey and hay aroma, slightly shitty. Clear yellow, thick snow white head, some lacing. Grainy copper taste with some light citrus and cherry undertones. Tinny hop finish. Only marginally better than US macros, and not really a good Kolsch. This rating is pretty generous.
