A hazy dark amber beer with a bubbly orange head. The aroma is dusty, malty, and grainy with a light touch of alcohol - I find the aroma boring. The flavor is acidic malty with notes of straw and fruit. I wonder where the acidity comes from - a brewing flaw? remove the acidityand make it sweeter, like I like the style, and You have a decent beer.

A hazy dark orange beer with a thin off-white head. The aroma is sweet with strong notes of alcohol, combined with notes of malt, and fruit. The flavor is very sweet and very spicy on a back ground with strong alcohol notes, and lesser notes of peaches, and other stale fruits. The end is dry with a slight touch of wood, the alcohol ends of by burning in the throat. The body is quite powerful.

(Bottle 50 cl) Pours a clear, orangey brown with a small, off-white head. Lovely aroma of roasted malt and caramel. Medium body with lots of roasted malt, fruit and a vague, burned touch. Dry - and oddly watery - finish. 090906

(Bottle 50 cl) Clear, amber golden with an off-white head. Fresh and fruity nose with lightly nutty accents. Medium body, soft mouthfeel, some roasted malt notes, nuts and a lightly ashy edge. The finish is dry. More of a Brown Ale really. 150907 (Bottle 50 cl) Pours a hazy, orangey brown with a small, off-white head. Slightly tart, malty aroma. Fairly full-bodied, with roasted malts and a vague, underlying burned edge. I wonder if the underlying tartness is fully intentional. Ends rather dry. Unbalanced and unclean - and clearly a virgin brew from this new brewhouse. Love the idea of a Scottish Ale, it just needs a lot of work. 5/2/4/2/10=2.3 290806
