bottle - Pours clear amber with an off-white head. Aroma is mostly caramel malt and some alcohol with a touch of dark fruit. This strong flavored brew has sweet caramel malt, some woody notes, alcohol, and a hint of fruit in the background all balanced out by some hops bitterness that lingers moderately strong in the finish. Calling it a doppelbock might be as close as one can get to the style, but don’t expect a typical doppelbock. It’s definitely not to style. There’s too much hops and too much that makes me think barley wine. The Coney Island label seems to be dedicated to creative, experimental lagers, which hardly anyone is doing, so good for them. It works.

Tap at Sheffields. Poured a cloudy gold with an off-white head. Aroma was a bit underwhelming but notes of hops, flower, fruits and malts present. Flavor began a bit fruity and then built to a malty finish. Hops were underlying throughout but lacked the bitterness,

Bottle. Pours a rusty amber with an off-white head. Aroma is malty with a lesser note of hops. Flavor starts with sweet malts and ends with a bit of hops. There is a touch of alcohol but the beer actually does a quite good job with the 10% ABV.

Bomber marked down to $2! Peach and clove aroma. Shimmering golden pour with a medium fizzy head that quickly disappears. Very strong flavor of cloves, light coriander at midpalate, and a minty finish. Perfumey and bitter throughout. Quite unique and gets points for originality.Tastes like a wibier and an apa mixed. The adjuncts make it a smidge too spicy.

Pours a clear mahogany with an average-sized tn head. Sweet malt aroma. Nice sweet start but it’s surprisingly bitter on the backside for a Doppelbock. I’d like this with a bit more body to it.

How about the name of this stuf: Coney Island Human Blockhead! Rude looking neck label: arouse yer lickwid curiousities, amaze yer oral sensibilities and induldge yer inner beer freak! Smell is a little fumey when I pop the lid on this bomber. Deep red orange hues in my beer glass, filtered. Sparkling with an ever restoring thin tea froth creamy head. Quite malty strong. Needs manners. Medicinal at times, wew. Quite a kick for a dopple, probably should be a trippelbock. Yep, you know there is alky in this, feels like 12%. Oppressive finish.

Bomber from GM Liquors. Nose of caramel, toffee, and a light molassey note. Clear rusty brown with a medium glass lacing beige head. Flavor is sweet caramel with some bubblegum and light alcohol.. Finish is lightly bitter with alcohol warmth. I like this doppelbock!
