Description
The Oslo was the start of Galway Bay Brewery and remains our flagship pub based in Salthill; our owners Jason O’Connell and Niall Walsh added a brewery on site in 2009, making The Oslo one of the country’s first brew pubs. Since then Galway Bay Brewery has expanded operations to 11 bars based in Galway and Dublin and have grown and re-positioned the Brewery just outside of Galway in Oranmore. We now produce four core beers along with a plethora of rotational beers that are released throughout the year.
With the installation of our new brew house we are turning our focus towards exporting and making our beers available in the UK and Europe

Bottle from Drinkstore, Dublin [131213]
Pitch black, big frothy dark tan head, some lacing. Aroma of soft dark malts, some sweet dark chocolate, soft roast. Taste of roasted malts, yeasty, quite rich dark malts, dab of coffee, some soft bitter hop in there, slightly earthy. Medium carb (maybe a bit over carbonated) and body, smooth. Finish - getting more chocolate here, like dry cocoa, dark malts. Overall - Moreish stuff, drank the bottle in no time. I prefer this to the keg beer. 3.6 > 3.7
Keg @ Brew Dock, Dublin [200913] 7/4/7/3/15
Very dark brown, tan bubbly head, good lacing
Aroma of roasted malts, slightly smoky, touch burnt, soft dark malts
Taste of dark roasted malts, very soft burnt notes, some dark soft palin chocolate, milk sugars, dark sugars, i’m getting into this, good stuff
Palate - Medium carb, medium thin body, too fizzy for a stout, sweet dark malts with slight burnt toasted notes. Finish as mian flavour, soft bitter, dark powedery chocolate, not keen on the fizz but a swirl helps sort it out
Overall - I’d prefer this on cask as the fizz loses the underlying smoothness. Did like this one

Draught. Clear gold with a medium head. Light bready aroma. Flavour is bread, a little caramel. Not bad just seems like someone forgot the hops.

Sample at Oslo in Galway. Pours a clear dark golden-brown color with a medium off-white head that recedes steadily. Strings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted nuts and malt. Light-bodied with flavors of toasted malt, nuts and some berry. The finish is sweet with a short nutty aftertaste. Decent overall.
