Bottle from Redwalds Ale house, Rendelsham, Suffolk. 4.6% abv. Pours bright attractive amber colour with a good sized lasting off-white head leaving good lacing. Aroma is very malty, with caramel, light citrus, and floral and earthy notes. Moderate sweetness, medium bitterness. Medium body, oily and slightly watery texture, average carbonation. Bittersweet and slightly metallic finish. Not bad overall.

Bottle at Johnny Mason’s bar, Dundalk, 05/06/16. Golden copper with a decent light beige cap. Nose is biscuit, caramel malt, orange marmalade, straw. Taste comprises toasted brown sugar, caramel wafer, biscuit malt, light spice, bitter orange back tones. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, trace of hop bitterness in the close. Fine lightly hopped amber, clean and no flaws with this one, a long way from the RB definition of an IPA !
