Description
United Dutch Breweries in Breda was created when the Belgian Interbrew closed the Breda Oranjeboom brewery in 2004, which it had taken over in 1995. Oranjeboom's export department carried out a management buy-out and continued independently with Oranjeboom's brand portfolio, which was acquired from Interbrew. The beers are not brewed anymore in Breda but elsewhere.

Can, small thin head, clear deep golden colour, aroma of vanila with mettalic notes and traces of herbs. Quite alcoholic with hints of malt, sweet and sugary with not enough bitterness to counter, making the beer feels heavy and dull.

Can, in Hong Kong. Well, this can says "Brewed in the EU", which rules out this particular sample coming from Randalls in Guernsey. But it doesn’t get any more specific so it’s tough to know where it comes from. Golden colour but flat. Light malt and mossy hops on the nose. Light hops and hints of bread on the palate. Nothing too offensive.

21/12 A 0.5 l can that poured deep golden body with medium to smaller head. Stinky aroma, quite weak, but enough to show its malt character and some alcohol. Flavor isn’t much better, some sweet honey malt in very watery body. Traces of lemony hops in the finish, but maybe it’s from the alcohol itself. Sweetish again. Very boring brew, but without anything that would be too unpleasant. Definitely more like malt liquor than an ESL.

Can, possibly from France, shared with heavy Poured a golden body with a small-medium white head that went away slowly. Alcohol and some malt in the nose. Weak, boring malty taste, some bready notes, traces of apple, very light hop, a bit vegetabley and, of course, alcohol. Meh. Not as dreadful as Super Strong.

Can, courtesy of Pinball. A clear, golden beer with a small, white head. Weak nose with some malts. Pale malts and some fruity hops in the mouth, thin to medium body. Some bitterness hints towards the end. There’s not much wrong with this one except it’s intensely boring. 090822
