Description
United Dutch Breweries in Breda was created when the Belgian Interbrew closed the Breda Oranjeboom brewery in 2004, which it had taken over in 1995. Oranjeboom's export department carried out a management buy-out and continued independently with Oranjeboom's brand portfolio, which was acquired from Interbrew. The beers are not brewed anymore in Breda but elsewhere.

Found in a small grocery in Rome, IT. It cost about .30 Euro. Label stated "Suriname," but it is Belgian, and I regret carrying it home. Gold color. Light chemical, lager aroma. Surprisingly thick and sweet on the palate; think Russian strong lager. Could this be Belgium’s worst beer?

Can, courtesy of Pinball. It pours the expected clear, golden body and small, white head. Weak, malty nose with some unpleasant scents of cellar and plastic. Weak flavor too, pale malts and some cellary plastic notes. Short caramel finish. Medium body. A discount beer, need I say more? 090822

Bottle pours dullish, nice white head. Almost nothing on the nose. Some Dutch lagers hint at pils, but not this one.

Can. Golden body with a dense white head. Aroma is mild malty and surprisingly not alcohol. Flavor is pretty straightforward sweet malty with less alcohol flavor than expected. Not undrinkable, but not very interesting either.
