Okay, kinda ugly in the glass and with a hefty caramel sweetness offset by mighty waves of pine and a little citrus. Undercarbonated, which accentuates the sweet streak.

Nice little pale ale, with toasted cracker malt laced with caramel and a grapefruit/orange zest hoppiness on the back end. Finishes with a mild piney bitter streak. Pretty good!

On tap at the brewery. Pours a clear gold with a white head that dissipates slowly to the edges slowly and laces. Aroma has hay and light sweet grains with grass and a hint of onion underlying. Flavor is more grain forward with hay, grass and some pine in the finish.

Sampled from the tap at the brewery. Pours black with a brown head that dissipates slowly to the edges and laces. Aroma has sweet dark grains and a bit of roast with just a touch of pine supporting. Flavor has earthy dark grains with some roasted malts and a bit of growing pine.

Sampled from the tap at the brewery. Pours a clear deep amber with a near white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a good amount of bread with some light sweet grains and a hint of toffee underlying. Flavor is also bready with a touch of burnt toffee and some sweet grains in the finish.

On the sweet side, not crisp or bright or floral like a traditional kölsch, more akin to a straight-up Helles brewed with ale yeast. Not bad, just nothing to write home about.
