Balanced, offering up equal amounts of chocolate and coffee, without any aggressive sweet notes or booziness. Underlined by hints of char, vanilla, raisin, molasses, and oak, with a slight whiskey warmth showing in the fade. Very good pint.

Citrus-heavy APA, with a wort-ish sweetness underlining the grapefruit and lemon zest from the hops. Stone fruit and berry pops up underneath, with a white bread yeastiness becoming too prominent in the fade. Eh.

Tasty brown ale, mostly notable for the deep bourbon bite and subtle maple sweetness accenting the toasted pumpernickel and caramel front. Maple is kept to a minimum, preventing any cloy notes on the finish. Very nice pint.

Healthy amounts of citrus, mango, pineapple, and mint backed up by wet malt and chive. Somewhat astringent texture never makes the pint comfortable, but still drinkable.

Straightforward red ale, caramel and toasted bread backed up by slight apple and roasted nut notes, finished off with a hint of citrus and piney hops. Drinkable, but not all that interesting.

Wide of the mark, offering up traditional unsweetened chocolate and roast but underlined by a vein of metallic sharpness and a yeasty, bland finish. Eh.

Perfectly drinkable wheat ale, full of soft clove and vanilla wheat notes backed up by hints of lemon zest, grass, yeast, and slight bits of citrus hops. Nice pint.

3/21/26 - Tried again after 6+ years and it’s vastly improved, if a tad dull. Punchy notes of grapefruit and dank and a touch of tropical fruit, piney finish. Won’t make my regular rotation but definitely reflects the steady gains in quality from this brewery.

11/3/19 - Diacetyl city. Big grapefruit and passion fruit hop notes backed up by pine and a caramel malt base, but it all gets pushed aside by the buttered popcorn finish, thick and off-putting. Not what you want in a brewery’s sole IPA.

Decent, with notes of cocoa, caramel, and toasted bread on top of a mildly floral hop bitterness. Grows a bit soapy in the finish, offset by a too-present yeastiness on the fade. Close, but not there yet.
