A 12 oz can that came from the local beer shop, I do appreciate the style considerably so the bar is set high. And they are hard to find. My Buffalo Bayou tulip glass is ready and I take the pour. I see black, of course, in the body and a thin but steady cover of creamy tan foam. The scent is roasty, hoppy and also gives off some pine. A drink delivers roast, a touch of chocolate, cedar, a nice hops bitterness and some earth. Nice.

I have a 12 oz can from my main beer shop. My opinion of the basic Yellow Rose was that it was rather decent, now’s the time to check out the pumped up version. A snifter from nearby Houston brewery, Great Heights, is in place so I pour. The arrival is a contents full, pithy orange-gold liquid with a proper cover of absolutely white foam. I should mention the quite active carbonation. The nose is pretty fine, I get apricots, citrus, grain, hops and straw. The drink is equally good, a blessed throwback IPA. Peaches, melon, potent hops, crackers, hay and honey. The higher abv delivers a certain depth to the beer. Sweet somewhat but also plenty of bitterness. Enjoyable IPA for sure.

Can (8/14/25) shared by Steve. Cloudy, golden yellow, decent head, good retention and nice lacing. Aroma is strong citrus, dank pineapple rind. Taste is strong, moderately bitter pine, milder dank pineapple rind, late biscuit. Smooth, frothy texture, soft carbonation and finish as taste. Bitterness/flavor are different in taste than aroma. I prefer the aroma. Not complex. OK.
